Winter bleed valve
We currently have seven "bleeder" valves, which keep water flowing through low-use areas of the system during the winter months. This flow keeps the water from freezing in the distribution lines.

Longwood Drive - old v. new pipe
The grey pipe was part of the original water main installation in the late 70s. The blue pipe, C900, is specifically rated for water use and can handle up to 300psi.

A radius of 5' (total diameter of 10') should be maintained around all service curb valves. The rock wall built over this curb was removed when we needed to access the valve.
Bog Brook culverts
